CLASS 2 BUILDINGS
Is your project a Class 2 Building? We are a Registered Building Practitioner for Class 2 Medium-Rise Buildings.
Class 2 buildings are usually multi-storey, multi-unit apartment buildings where people live above or below each other. They may also be a single storey attached dwelling where there is a common space below such as a carpark or basement.
The Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020 introduced new obligations and mandatory requirements for industry practitioners to ensure designs and building work are compliant with the Building Code of Australia (BCA). Any structural building work on Class 2 buildings must be lodged in the NSW Planning Portal by a Registered Design Practitioner. This work must be carried out by a Class 2 Building Practitioner who is registered to lodge building compliance declarations in the NSW Planning Portal.
